Partner Andrew Bees has been announced as a member of the Society for Computers & Law Cybersecurity Group’s Committee this week.
The SCL Cybersecurity Group brings together leading minds at the intersection of law, technology and cyber risk. The SCL mission is to inform and educate legal and technology professionals, academics, students and the wider audience on the impact of IT on law and legal practice. SCL works to promote ideals of best practice, thought leadership, and the fostering of a global tech law community.
The committee group is already working on key initiatives, including their first event, a Cybersecurity Conference, and a dedicated Cybersecurity edition of Computers & Law Magazine.
Andrew covers a broad spectrum of commercial work, with a focus on cybersecurity, public procurement, telecommunications and technology.
Initially a corporate lawyer, Andrew joined White & Black in 2024 after over a dozen years within UK government. In that role, Andrew advised widely, with a focus on the UK’s security, defence and intelligence environment, on outsourcing projects (including IT, technology, telecommunications, professional services and facilities management), IPR protection and exploitation, and cyber security (including incident response, management of industry assurance schemes and government cyber defence services, the development and implementation of cyber regulation and policy, and telecommunications security).

Committee Chair, Fiona Phillips, said: “I’m thrilled (and a little in awe) to chair the Cybersecurity and Law Committee for the Society for Computers and Law. We’re lucky to be joining together some of the sharpest, most experienced minds working at the intersection of cybersecurity and the law. Our Group includes rockstars of the cybersecurity legal world – lawyers, technologists and thought leaders who are shaping how we think about digital risk, resilience and law.”
