I’m a Partner and commercial lawyer specialising in the contractual arrangements for technology projects and data protection advice.
These technology projects can include anything from system supply arrangements and technology outsourcings to the provision of software-as-a-service solutions and the use of artificial intelligence. In terms of data protection, I tend to focus on the data protection implications of technology projects and I routinely advise on the transfer of personal data between organisations and internationally.

I tend to advise large companies within the UK who are the customers of the particular technology, but I do also act for some technology suppliers. I like to work closely with my clients to ensure that the contractual arrangements protect their real interests and I always try to avoid “point-scoring” discussions with lawyers for the other party. My view is that, when they work best, the contractual arrangements for technology projects reflect a fair balance between the parties that address the concerns of both sides.
I qualified in 2003 and have specialised in commercial law and technology projects for about 20 years. I am dual qualified in both England & Wales and New Zealand, and I am a member of the Society for Computers and Law. As well as being named as a Thomson Reuters Stand-out Lawyer, I’m also ranked as a “Leading Individual” in the Legal 500 and a “Band 1 Ranked Individual” in Chambers & Partners.
