Darcy Rak
Trainee Solicitor
As a Trainee Solicitor, I am committed to collaborative work, partnering with colleagues and clients to achieve optimal outcomes that advance their commercial goals.
I strive to build strong, trust-based relationships that extend beyond the traditional legal advisor role. My experience includes supporting merger and acquisition transactions and providing company secretarial services within the Corporate team and assisting colleagues on contentious matters in Commercial Disputes. I pivoted to the law in pursuit of a profession that combines both collaboration with colleagues and clients, and the fulfilment in helping others.

My most rewarding moments are often borne out of interactions I have with our clients, I feel privileged in these moments to be able to offer support and legal advice in simple and clear terms, to help our client understand their position. The impact White & Black has, spans beyond the walls of the firm itself. I have enjoyed providing pro-bono legal advice as part of the Citizens Advice scheme, as well as working with cancer patients and associated family and friends through volunteer work at the Maggie’s Centre at the Churchill Hospital, Oxford.
I turned to the law during the Covid-19 pandemic when I made the decision to begin my legal studies, having formally trained and performed as an opera singer. I continue to sing in my free time and enjoy the balance that both the law and music provide. Looking ahead, I look forward to developing my drafting skills and learning more about legal strategy, whether that be in the context of a high-profile commercial dispute or a high-value corporate transaction.
