As an Associate and corporate lawyer, I help our clients execute their growth strategies. This could be through an acquisition or investment as part of an expansion plan, a business sale to allow a client to change their focus, or a reorganisation to ensure that the group can best achieve its objectives. Beyond transactional work, I help our clients remain focused on what’s important in their business by taking care of their compliance with corporate legal obligations, such as board governance and company secretarial obligations.
I’ve always been naturally drawn to understanding the intricacies of decisions and actions. This allows me to better appreciate context, consider alternatives, and anticipate consequences. This mindset is central to my daily work, and I focus on understanding our clients’ objectives and immersing myself in their situation, staying alert to evolving facts and priorities. Whether assisting a new client with their first sale or advising a longstanding client on the restructuring of their business ahead of a target event, taking the time to understand their journey, current position and long-term commercial objectives allows me to offer personalised advice that effectively guides them towards long term solutions.
My career began with White & Black after having studied law, so I’ve been lucky enough to have developed professionally in an environment surrounded by a talented team who are not just technically excellent, commercially astute lawyers but also business owners facing many of the same challenges as our clients. Working in this environment has provided me with first-hand insight into the daily challenges that our clients face and reinforces the value, of solutions-oriented advice that is focused on achieving their end goal.
